Job title: Construction Manager – High Voltage
Job description: Our client is a leading utility contractor covering Canada-wide projects. The company is looking for an experienced construction manager to lead the Toronto office. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for safely overseeing and coordinating multiple projects to achieve optimal financial and timeline outcomes with a strong team of superintendents and field operatives reporting to you.
Key Responsibilities:
What You Will Do Here
- Prepare and staff a construction team made of experienced and capable supervisory personnel
- Liaise with engineering staff to ensure integration of all tooling designs
- Develop hiring plan
- Responsible for all site execution matters, including the timely performance of the work
- Accountable for all site safety and human performance metrics
- Maintain a positive relationship with client construction counterparts
- Accountable for ensuring all project execution resources have received the required training
- Identifies succession plans for key individuals and implements necessary steps to train these individuals
- Ensure work is performed within quality system requirements
- Ensure verification of Supervisor qualifications
- Responsible for supervision of all execution/construction, work coordinators and clerical staff.
- Close collaboration with Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management staff
Qualifications and Skills:
- Prior experience in transmission and distribution construction is essential.
- Proven experience managing teams is necessary.
- Experience managing electrical and financial risk management.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Highly experienced in high-voltage projects
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to manage claims processes and negotiate with clients on project matters.
- Proven ability to lead multiple teams from diverse functions towards shared objectives.
- Robust conflict management abilities.
- Strong, established leadership skills.
- Capacity to identify top talent and develop growth opportunities and training to mentor and build internal teams.
