Primary Responsibilities:
- Scaling and doing pre-operation inspection of work site;
- Filling 5 point card and maintain accurate operating records, including daily work reports;
- Install ground support with handheld equipment when required;
- Assemble and install pastefill walls (better blasting walls or arch walls);
- Install paste distribution pipe, including paste inserts;
- Proceed in doing required pastefill pipe connection following paste packages;
- Install and maintain mine services (air, water and pumping);
- Inspect work during and after completion and ensure result is following prints and standards;
- Inspect and maintain records of pastefill pipe network, paste walls and paste pours;
- Contribute to and establish effective workplace relationships;
- Provide workplace status update to relevant people at the end of shift (supervisor and coworkers)
- Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced crew members
- Support construction supervisor by doing site inspections, QA/QC
- Ensure workplace is tidy and free of refuse and leftover construction material before leaving; and
- Any other task as directed by direct supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in mining operations;
- Supervisory common core;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently;
- Computer proficient;
- Strong experience in shaft, material handling and primary dewatering systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering prints (civil work, structural work, rock excavation work)
- Exhibit high attention to detail and high standards
- Post-secondary education in mining related field would be an asset;
- Good communication skills, coupled with strong leadership abilities; and
- Qualified as train the trainer would be an asset.
Schedule: 5,4,4,5 rotating schedule
