About the Company
Our client is a well-established logistics and transportation company. They are currently looking for a Controller who will be responsible for the accurate and timely financial management of the organization. They will also be responsible for accounting operations, preparation of financial reports, account reconciliations, advise on ASPE related matters and maintenance of accounting records.

About the Opportunity
- Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
- Develops and enforces internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
- Manage, mentor and coach accounting team to provide appropriate guidance
- Maintains internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Assure timely and accurate recording of transactions
- Establishes (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, program monitoring, and reporting standards on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Implements consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledge of proposed legislation
- Ensures compliance with provincial and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards
- Sales tax and payroll tax compliance and oversight
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries
- Maintains the company general ledger
- Preparation, review and approval of monthly account reconciliations
- Prepares accurate financial reports with appropriate comparative analysis in a timely manner to be shared with management
- Preparation of 13 and 26 Week Cashflow Forecast models with high degree of detail
- Assist in the preparation of budget and forecasts
- Help with ERP and software related tasks and review
- Manage the annual audit process with our external accountants
About You
- CPA designation
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a senior-level accounting/finance position
- Minimum 3 – 5 years’ management experience
- Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel
- T1 / T2 ERP experience
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of federal and provincial tax regulations and compliance reporting
Salary Range
$120,000-$130,000/year
