We are looking for a motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic Cook 1/ Chef De Partie at Mulberry PARC in Burnaby. The Cook 1/ Chef De Partie will help to support our Food and Beverage team. If you are passionate about food and enjoy making a difference; this position is for you!
Cook 1 and Chef De Partie Responsibilities:
- Preparing meals in accordance with the established menus and standards for portion control and quality plate presentation;
- Providing creative input to menus, food preparation methods, and special event menus;
- Receiving all food and supplies;
- Ensuring the kitchen operates at the highest level of sanitation and safety.
Cook 1 and Chef De Partie Skills and Experience:
- High school graduation or equivalent;
- Formal training – minimum three years of experience in a similar position, Red Seal an asset;
- Knowledge and experience in creative food preparation, accurate portion control, food preparation in accordance with menus and use of commercial kitchen equipment;
- Ability to read, write and effectively communicate with others;
- Successfully completed Food Safe 1 and WHMIS;
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide leadership when required;
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to employees and residents;
- Demonstrated ability to show initiative and use good judgment;
- Positive and cooperative attitude;
- Empathy for and understanding of the needs of seniors, their families and their professional service providers;
- Adaptable to change.
