Job description: Adecco is currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time Cook in Hamilton, ON, to work at The Mission Services Of Hamilton. The ideal candidate will have a valid Food Handler’s certification and is able to work a flexible schedule of day, afternoon and weekend shifts. * Pay rate: $20/ Hour

• Location: Hamilton, ON
• Shifts: Weekdays-Weekends | Day- Afternoon – Night | 37.6 Hours /week
• Job type: Full-time | Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities: * Prepare food and assist in food preparation for residential facilities with 100+ individuals

• Receive, organize, and rotate food items
• Utilize food donations efficiently and within appropriate health guidelines
• Maintain an orderly and clean kitchen keeping within Health and Safety guidelines and proper food handling
• Work safely, identify any health and safety concerns and report to management, by following Mission Services workplace health and safety policies and procedures at all times
• Work from an Anti-Racism, Anti-Oppression framework
• Work with staff and volunteers to deliver the best service possible
• Commit to uphold the organization’s mission, values and standards
• Adhere to a strict policy of confidentiality
• Perform other duties as required to ensure the continuation of service to residents/service users

Requirements and Qualifications: * Minimum of 2 years of kitchen experience in a healthcare or social services organization is required

• Knowledge of Canada Food Guidelines is a must
• Able to work in an environment that serves marginalized individuals (poverty, homelessness, trauma, abuse and addiction), while demonstrating and modelling good boundaries
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Training is an asset
• Flexible to work with a variety of food donations
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
• Capable of lifting up to 22.5 kg (50 lbs)
• Able to work a flexible schedule of day, afternoon and weekend shifts
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
