A day in the role of a Cook at Niagara Long Term Care Residence.As a Cook at Niagara Long Term Care Residence, you will be given high expectations, as well as an expectation to continue personal growth and professional growth. As a Cook, you will report directly to the Food Services Manager. This position is responsible for but not limited to meal preparation. QualificationsAt the Niagara Long Term Care Residence, we take pride in our employees, so your qualifications are important to us. The qualifications needed to join our family at Niagara Long Term Care Residence are as follows: Certification in Food Preparation designation from an accredited school, Minimum 5 years or related experience in retirement, hospital or hotel setting in volume food preparation, Knowledge of special and therapeutic diets, Familiar with weights and measurements, recipe conversion and portion control, Completion of Safe Good Handlers Certification course, Knowledge of Ontario Food Premises Regulation and Canada’s Food Guide, Ability to work within and promote a team environment, Must enjoy working with Residents, Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, Must be able to read, write and understand English, Highly organized and about to work independently.
