Responsibilities:

– Provide legal administrative support to lawyers within a thriving corporate tax practice;
– Transcribe, prepare, and revise legal documents, contracts, and correspondence;
– Maintain legal files;
– Organize and assemble document books;
– Become familiar with files, clients and key contacts to better prioritize calls;
– Liaise professionally with assistants and other lawyers;
– Assist with docketing, timesheets, and coordinate billing cycle;
– Coordinate business travel accommodations; and
– other duties as needed.

Requirements:

– At least 2 years of experience as a Corporate Legal Assistant;
– Legal Assistant Certificate or Law Clerk diploma from an accredited institution;
– Understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure, limitation periods, pleadings, legal terminology, and rules for filing;
– Familiarity with tax law would be an asset;
– Able to handle a large case load;
– Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and PowerPoint; and
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
