Overview

Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team is seeking a co-worker who is highly motivated to promote and champion DEI at Sobeys. We need someone who has excellent communication and facilitation skills, is an ‘outside of the box’ thinker, event planning, and takes ownership of projects/deliverables. The ability to create and manage relationships both internal and external is incredibly important to our team. We need someone who is comfortable and confident in their relationship building skills to be able to influence and work collaboratively with all of our stakeholders.

Job Description

Planning and executing DE&I initiatives and strategy

  • Responsible for planning and execution of initiatives that contribute to achieving the organizational-wide diversity, equity and inclusion strategy
  • Develop robust education and awareness strategy on DE&I across all lines of business, banners
  • Manage DE&I annual award submissions

Communicating DE&I initiatives and strategy

  • Create, update and maintain Communications Plan for DE&I
  • Develop and implement communication and messaging strategies/tactics including toolkits and other materials

Partnering and Networking to achieve actions

  • Partner with Corporate Social Responsibility team to ensure content is updated on the Corporate Social Responsibility site
  • Partner with Director and relevant stakeholders to build and provide input on diversity strategy
  • Promote visibility of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives internally and externally

Coaching and Advising

  • Coach and support the business to ensure inclusive practices

Supporting Learning and Development

  • Strengthen leadership capability around diversity, equity and inclusion via multiple interventions including but not limited to workshops and training

Key Support Accountabilities

  • Work with HR teams to develop awareness of diversity, equity and inclusion priorities and awareness of unconscious bias
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gain input and engagement related to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives

Job Requirements

  • An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the development and delivery of processes, tools and programs
  • Experience in facilitation and delivering presentations
  • Experience in retail an asset
  • Bilingual in English & French preferred
