Job title: Foreperson, Construction

Job description: You are an experienced Carpenter Foreperson with commercial construction expertise. You have experience leading a large crew, preparing on-site personnel for the project and day to day execution of work, and enforcing safety regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain an organized and safe work environment, including cleanliness and adherence to safety regulations.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the construction crew, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Supervise and optimize labour, equipment, materials and sub-contractors on-site
• Ensure work is by drawings and specifications
• Keep accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, photographs, and documentation of any changes or issues encountered.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly safety meetings and inspections

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience running crews in a supervisory role
• Experience in commercial or residential construction projects
• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
• Proficiency in using construction management software and tools for scheduling and documentation.
• Familiarity with various construction methods, techniques, and materials.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Work Conditions:

• Regular work week of 44 hours
• Overtime may be required to meet construction deadlines
• Must be open to night shifts and weekend work when required
• Work will primarily be outdoors in various weather conditions
• Must be comfortable working at heights
