Job description: General Labourer – Glass Recycling Facility
NexCycle Industries has a 15 year legacy of providing glass recycling solutions throughout Canada and North America. NexCycle is a division of Strategic Materials, an environmental steward and the largest glass recycler with over 40 plants across the continent, striving to conserve earth’s natural resources. Strategic Materials origins started in 1896, recycling glass into a variety of products.
Responsibilities
- Energetic, looking for a career.
- Sort and separate both post-consumer and post-industrial scrap glass
- Bagging, lifting, and moving recycled materials.
- Sort out various glass, plastic and metal materials through a production line.
- Maintain clean and safe area as assigned.
- Sweep and shovel glass piles as assigned.
- Follow continuous quality improvement program according to company procedures
- All training provided for current and for future advancement in the organization; Quality Technician, Fork lift operator, Heavy Equipment Operator
Requirements and Working Conditions
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 50 pounds on occasion.
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dust, dirt, noise, weather extremes or similar elements occasionally.
- Personal transportation strongly preferred (no city bus stations near the facility).
