General Manager
Our client is searching for a General Manager to be the primary figure in leading and managing all areas of the company. A successful candidate will possess and demonstrate exceptional leadership, industry experience, and strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. A successful candidate will also play the lead role as they direct and support the management team and is responsible for the overall direction of operations. The General Manager reports directly to the CFO.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Provide strategic direction to the entire operation
- Oversee production planning, scheduling, and workflow to optimize efficiency.
- Monitor and manage production costs, ensuring cost-effective operations
- Implement and maintain safety protocols and compliance with industry regulations
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with the operations team to implement corrective actions and preventive measures
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of production and operations staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
- Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively
- Work closely with the operations teams to meet customer needs and expectations
- Develop and manage budgets for the bagging and blending department
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving strategies
- Prepare regular reports for senior management
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation
- Implement best practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste
- Stay current with industry trends and technology advancements
Your strengths include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in a leadership role within industry or a similar manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
- Financial acumen with experience in budget management
- Problem solving and decision making skills
- Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance
