True Key Hotels & Resorts proudly manages Nootka Marine Adventures at the Moutcha Bay Resort, located at the mouth of the Conuma River just 40 minutes west of Gold River, in the beautiful sheltered waters of Nootka Sound, BC. It is easily accessible by car, float plane or boat. Moutcha Bay Resort provides a unique collection of wilderness accommodation, adventure products and services not otherwise found in our region, such as guided fishing, wildlife tours, kayak tours, boat & equipment rentals, and an onsite full-service restaurant. Visitors find the drive with the beautiful lake and forest scenery an added bonus.

True Key Hotels & Resorts provides competitive employment packages for its team members including competitive wages, in-season accommodation, in-season meals, education allowance, employee discount programs, on the job training and opportunities for advancement. The shift for this position is four days-on and three days-off; working a 9.5 hour day when on shift. Wage for this position is $15.50 – $17.50 per hour plus meals and accommodations.

This position is available for Moutcha Bay Resort.

Groundkeepers are a part of the dynamic Maintenance team. This position requires an energetic and motivated person. A great attitude and willingness to learn new skills is valued in our team members. You can expect a fun working environment that prioritizes safety and guest experience. You will be responsible for a variety of duties around the resort, most of which require physical labour.

Anticipated start date: As soon as qualified candidate found
Anticipated end date: August 20th – September 15th

Contract length subject to change based on the demands of the season.

Position requirements include and are not limited to:

  • A service driven individual dedicated to the guest experience and cleanliness
  • An attention to detail and a commitment to safety and professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication
  • Experience with equipment operation and maintenance is an asset
  • Experience and proficiency with power and hand tools in as asset
  • Landscaping experience is an asset
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physical ability to lift 50lbs
  • Physical ability to work while walking and standing for prolonged periods
  • Physical ability to crouch and kneel for prolonged periods
  • Valid drivers license
  • Pleasure Craft Operators Card
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1 preferred

Duties of this position include and are not limited to:

  • Maintain and monitor all resort infrastructure, equipment, systems, and vehicles
  • Performing daily checks of maintenance systems
  • Check, maintain, and refill propane and diesel fuel as needed
  • Inspect and clean campsites to ensure they are ready for guest arrival
  • Perform landscaping projects as needed
  • Assist with unloading deliveries
  • Perform daily waste management including garbage, recycling, and compost
  • General “handyman” duties (ie hanging pictures, replacing light bulbs, etc.)
  • Keep all areas of the resort clean, tidy and free of hazards

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
