Hiring Unit:

Student Housing & Hospitality Services

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Trades Supervisor, provides a high standard of good workmanship for the continuous (preventative) maintenance of general repairs of all furniture, equipment and general upkeep of the University buildings.

Qualifications:

High School Leaving Diploma. Three (3) months related experience required. Proven Experience and practical knowledge of the techniques used in several trades related to the sector of general maintenance, such as plumbing, electrical, woodwork, ventilation, etc. Knowledge of Health Safety requirements and norms of the Building Codes. Experience in Hotel Business is an asset. Good communication skills in both French and English, spoken and written. Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.

Hours working:

Fall/Winter Monday to Friday 8h00-16h15; Summer Monday to Friday 7h30 -15h45.

Hourly Salary: $28.61

Hours per Week: 38.75 (Full time)

Location: Res. Carrefour Sherb

Supervisor: Building Supervisor (ER)
