Job description: Our client partner covers the wet utility and pipeline sector and is a leader in the Toronto Area. They are currently hiring for an Intermediate Health & Safety Coordinator for their operations with projects throughout the Toronto region. Projects include working around heavy civil and major infrastructure projects across the GTA.

Duties

• Day-to-day coordination, both on-site and office based in a fast-paced multi-divisional business unit
• Maintain Safety Management System (SMS) databases, administer sub-contractor programs, support job sites with project safety plans.
• Train and coach junior coordinators in regards to correct safety procedures and protocols
• Recording and maintenance of the incident statistical database.
• Coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committee functions at office location and actively participate on the Committee.
• Coordinate Health and Safety Training as required.
• Produce regular reports and documentation as required.
• Liaise closely with clients, inspectors and peers in regards to ongoing safety for projects

EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Post secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety (persuing or completed) or sufficient credentials, NCSO or CRSP etc
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong ability to multitask
