PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Health Services Analysts are accountable for Compliance, coordination, implementation and maintenance of various processes, policies, procedures and systems related to Fitness to Work/Return to Work, Employment medical Program, Periodic Medical Program, Alcohol and Drug Testing Programs in accordance with the Railway Safety Act, Fitness to Work Medical Policy and Procedures, Alcohol and Drug Policy and Procedures etc. Provide support to the Health Services department including the Occupational Health Nurses, Corporate Physicians and other Health Services Team Members ensuring all medical information is requested as required, tracked, and recorded within the OHS systems.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Coordinate the Employment Medical Assessment Program for candidates and employees; (pre-employment, pre-placement, prolonged absence & recall, reinstatements, Management Conductor/LE and strike medical assessments)
  • Liaise with Canada/US Talent Acuisition team and 3rd party vendors to ensure appointment booking, receipt of medical assessment files is done, as per Service Level Agreements
  • Provide timely and responsive customer service to administrative enquiries relating to EMA program from Employment Centre, managers, supervisors, CMC, HR, employees, candidates and third party service providers etc
  • Ensure all EMA program information remains up to data and accurate including EMA forms, third party provider listings, protocols and procedures
  • Reconcile all EMA invoices for integrity and accuracy of charges before payment
  • Audits current processes to drive process improvements, assist in the implementation and documentation for process changes, and liaise where applicable with other stakeholders
  • Provides support to the Health Services department including the Occupational Health Nurses
  • Corporate Physicians and other Health Services Team Members
  • Provides administrative guidance to external stakeholders on various programs run by Health Services
  • Provides technical and administrative support to the Health Service team on electronic records management and systems
  • Cross-trains and provides coverage for other programs run by Health Services in accordance with the Railway Safety Act, Fitness to Work Medical Policy and Procedures, Alcohol and Drug Policy and Procedures in US and Canada etc. related to:
  • Fitness to Work/Return to Work,
  • Employment medical Program
  • Periodic Medical Program
  • Alcohol and Drug Testing Programs – US

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education or 3 to 5 years’ experience in Department of occupational health, HR or safety
  • Current or Past experience with handling large volume Employment Medical Assessments, is desirable
  • Highly proficient in SAP, DATS, CMA, ECM, SharePoint, MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management, Access etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated capability to apply discretion and confidentiality parameters to day to day work;
  • Must have the ability to review, comprehend and coordinate all types of drug and alcohol program documents and correspondence
  • High level of attention to detail and string analytical problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong time management skills, be self-motivated and results-oriented
