Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, our Heavy Equipment Technicians and Trailer Techs are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of our fleet of transport trucks and trailers including fuel, asphalt, sulphur, pneumatic, propane/NH3, and hopper bottoms. We’re looking for skilled technicians to support our repair shops with the ability to work independently and as part of our great team.
Education and Experience:
- Licensed/Apprentice (2nd/3rd/4th year) Trailer Technicians OR
- Licensed/Apprentice (2nd/3rd/4th year) Heavy Equipment Technician
- Previous experience with VK tank testing considered to be an asset
- Experience with B620 Transport Canada Regulations an asset as trailer tech
- Experience in welding would be considered an asset
- CVIP or Class 1 license an asset
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends
About the position:
- Interpreting work orders and technical manuals
- Performing scheduled preventative maintenance services
- Diagnosing faults or malfunctions
- Adjusting equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems on truck and trailers
- Operating oxy-acetylene torches or perform minor welding repairs (Non-code work)
- Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work done meets manufacturers’ specifications and legislated regulations
- Completing service repair orders and bill out all parts used on repair order
- Maintaining a safe and clean work area
