Job Details
Position Title: International Admissions Officer
Status: Full-Time Support
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Office of the Registrar
Campus/Location: North and/or Lakeshore Campus must be comfortable working hybrid, a minimum of three (3) days on-site.
Salary: Payband I (Min) $36.55 (Max) $42.36
What you will do:
Reporting to the Manager, International Admissions the International Admissions Officer supports the achievement of the institution’s enrolment and retention plans (as defined through the SEM process) for the international student population. The incumbent
provides a broad range of duties coordinating and implementing the admission process supporting international recruitment efforts while providing on- going support to our international student body. The International Admissions Officer is expected to be the subject
and credential expert on admissions for international students into his or her cluster of countries. As such, complex or non-routine issues are referred to the Officer responsible for that country. The incumbent provides information and communicates with prospective
students, applicants, guidance counsellors, agents, Canadian Immigration, parents, faculty and college administrators regarding a broad range of admissions related question/topics. The incumbent provides leadership and training to his/her designated work group,
as well as provides support to the College’s international recruitment and admissions efforts by delivering information sessions on and off-campus. These activities require approximately four weeks of overseas travel.
Qualifications
What you bring to the role:
Education: The successful candidate will possess a 4-year degree or equivalent in Public Relations, Education, Business/Marketing or equivalent
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- The incumbent should demonstrate the following:
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Superior communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes
- Thorough knowledge of the secondary school, college, and university system.
- Knowledge of the educational systems of other countries.
- Leadership skills and the ability to work independently
- Ability to train and motivate a team
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment
- Excellent organizational skills and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to develop proficiency within the student record system.
- Ability to work in a highly automated environment.
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week.
To be scheduled on-site and remotely anytime between Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.
Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements and on-call or weekend availability may be required.
