Position Summary

Are you passionate about shaping the international student experience? Do you thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment? We’re looking for a talented International Enrolment Services Coordinator to join our International Enrolment Services team at the University of Regina!

As our International Enrolment Services Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our unit, ensuring smooth coordination and implementation of university policies. Reporting to the Manager of International Enrolment Services, the Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of the daily operations of the unit and for coordinating, implementing, and administering university policies and procedures in international undergraduate admissions, re-admissions, and faculty transfers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Policy Adherence: Guarantee consistent application of Senate and Faculty-approved admissions policies, making independent decisions when resolving conflicts.
  • Monitoring & Follow-up: Monitor international applications, follow up with candidates for additional information, and ensure accurate and timely communication on application status.
  • Data Management: Utilize student information systems to track and maintain accurate enrolment data. Generate insightful reports on international student enrolment trends and demographics.
  • Communication Expert: Be the go-to person for international admission policies and procedures inquiries. Provide recommendations for service improvements based on feedback.
  • Global Perspective: Stay informed about educational systems, industry best practices, and technological innovations. Make policy and procedural recommendations accordingly.
  • Web Presence: Monitor and recommend changes to the International Enrolment Services information on the University’s website.
  • System Management: Test and troubleshoot systems for processing international admissions, ensuring document transfer and upload efficiency.
  • Event Planning: Plan logistics for international admissions-related events on and off campus.
  • Record Keeping: Implement the department filing system in accordance with the University of Regina Records and Information Management Policy.

Position Requirements

What You Will Bring to the Position:

  • Undergraduate Degree in a relatable area; and
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience, preferably in a university environment.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role:

  • Experience in the evaluation of international transcripts and educational documents;
  • Knowledge of immigration laws and visa requirements relevant to international students;
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on sound judgment;
  • Ability to resolve complex problems using analytical skills, reasoning, and research;
  • Demonstrated ability to set, direct, and achieve goals in alignment with an overall strategic mission; Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a student-centered environment; Demonstrated experience communicating in a cross-culturally sensitive manner;
  • Knowledge of Banner Student Module and related reports (or similar experience working with complex databases and reporting);
  • Proficiency in utilizing student information systems to manage and track enrolment-related data, ensuring accuracy and compliance;
  • Strong technical expertise and ability to lead system implementations and upgrades for admissions users;
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to international undergraduate admissions;
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity;
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment;
  • Experience with conflict resolution and making independent discretionary decisions;
  • Experience with writing instruction manuals and training others on complex policies and programs; Experience working with multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities;
  • Ability to coordinate a team, motivate and lead others;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with sensitive information;
  • Ability to comply with the Freedom of Information and the Protection of Privacy Act;
  • Ability to identify and report unsafe acts, workplace hazards, and incidents that result (or could result) in injury, illness, or environmental damage;
  • Ability to work and lead staff to work and act safely; and
  • Experience with Scholarships and Awards would be an asset.

Salary Range $62,909 – $84,893 Annually

Work Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Work outside regular business hours may be required.
  • Remote work is not an option.
  • Travel within Canada and abroad may be required.
