Currently we are recruiting for a Sherwood Park, Alberta based;

IT Business Analyst

The IT Business Analyst translates business needs into technical requirements for business systems or processes, and ensures all solutions support and conform to business needs and specifications. The IT Business Analyst acts as liaison between business unit and IT teams. The IT Business Analyst reports directly to the Information Technology Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a liaison between Information Systems and business areas/subject matter experts in Accounting, Finance, Project Services, HR, Payroll, SCM, and other teams. Analyze and assess current business processes and underlying systems/applications. Plan, elicit, capture, analyze and validate business, functional and technical requirements. Identify business needs and design solutions within an enterprise framework.
• Evaluate and lead changes and smaller projects that integrate across complex business applications; designing and documenting specifications for system changes, system integrations, and making application configurations.
• Develop all testing criteria, scripts, and test plans required to ensure that system changes and enhancements function as designed, including system, integration and user acceptance testing.
• Help develop, implement, and continually improve processes for the management of incidents, changes, data, projects, security, knowledge base, contracts, auditing, and any other internal business processes.
• Produce timely and high-quality requirements-related work products, including requirement specifications, process flows, mock-ups and qualifications.
• Proficient in both traditional Waterfall SDLC and Agile / Lean methodologies, Microsoft Project, Office and Visio.
• Leverage use of business intelligence for enterprise data reporting, analytics and dashboards to meet or anticipate business and executive needs.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of role

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with full SDLC software and hardware projects from a Business Analyst perspective and proven adherence to Business Analyst standards and best practices
• Strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a continually changing environment
• Ability to understand how systems integrate and interrelate and resolve complex integration issues.
• Project experience: conceptualization, planning, leading or managing, traditional and agile methodologies
• Knowledge with programming languages and technical tools, especially SQL, is a plus
• Experience as an IT/Systems Business Analyst in an ERP environment is preferred.
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including documentation and presentations, for business and technical audiences
• Experience with data management, integrations, business intelligence and analytics is a plus

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business or Equivalent.
• Business process reengineering experience, Six Sigma certification etc. is a plus.
• ITIL certification desired

Experience:

• 5+ years experience work experience as a Business Analyst with business systems / ERPs, especially the following modules:
