DESCRIPTION:

Seeking an IT Infrastructure Service Manager to supplement our L2 infrastructure support and operations team to assist with ensuring the company’s infrastructure and services are operating effectively and meeting predefined SLA’s. This individual will be accountable to assist with managing day to day operations that cover a broad range of infrastructure technologies.

As a strong technician, will provide technical leadership, create and manage infrastructure plan and standards according to IT strategic plan and roadmap. Understand business cycles and ensure recurring business process run smoothly.

Manage demand from users on IT services, implementation and enhancement of IT infrastructure projects.

Manage change initiatives properly and in a systematically manner to ensure availability, performance and reliability of the systems impacted by change.

Escalate to IT Manager any new request that is not part of standard catalogue of services

Communicate to IT manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays

This is a hybrid role that will require the candidate from time to time to roll up their sleeves and be hands on for various support functions. For example, tape management, vendor escort for break fix and new infrastructure implementations.

Will also be engaged to identify solutions and recommendations supporting our infrastructure continuous improvement program, compliance requirements and infrastructure capacity management and planning.

Note some work may require working weekend and/or after hours depending on business operational requirements. Will also be required to travel and work at local (within the GTA) Data Center facilities from time to time to support operational work.

SKILLS:

  • 5+ years infrastructure, operations and data center management experience
  • Experience with Hardware Asset Management and ITAD process execution
  • Experience with Dell server hardware
  • Experience with EMC storage hardware (Unity)
  • Experience working in virtualized environments (VMWare, Openstack)
  • Experience working in Linux environments (Redhat)
  • Experience working in Database environments (MS SQL, Oracle)
  • Experience working with Backup (Commvault)
  • Experience working in Windows Server environments
  • Experience working in Networking (CISCO Switches)
  • Experience maintaining service catalogues and SLAs
  • Experience working with cabling techniques and materials
  • Experience creating and maintaining rack elevation diagrams
  • Knowledge or experience with ticketing systems and monitoring systems (ServiceNow)
  • Must have exceptional communication skills
  • Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Deploy equipment and its needed connectivity in the data center
  • Ability to interface with suppliers
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Relationship between application design, data, and infrastructure environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates Degree, College IT diploma or 7+ years equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience managing IT infrastructure and Data Center Operations
  • 3+ years’ experience supporting, executing and delivering technology operational projects
  • You have excellent IT technical skills on server, storage, network, database, middleware, security, voice, cloud services, server virtualization and business continuity and disaster recovery
  • 3+ years’ experience working with managed service (TCS) providers
  • You have strong Problem, Change, Incident and Request service management capabilities
  • ITSM/ITIL certification is an asset
  • PMP certification is an asset
  • 2X vaccinated
