Job description: The Manager of Information Technology reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
The Manager has responsibility for managing the strategic growth and development, maintenance, and regular operations of the Information Systems.
Responsibility includes promoting a positive awareness, effective and efficient use of technology across the Society.
Provide a strategic direction for the Society`s Information Technology use through the development of a comprehensive information technology strategic plan.
Conceptualizes, evaluates and implements information systems strategies, plans, and priorities for a comprehensive and robust information system to accomplish the missions and strategic plan.
Recommends long-range and short-range management information system plans and budgets, tailoring technologies to the needs of the organization, including refresh of personal computers and devices, cloud-based services, and other SaaS applications.
Directs the development and implementation of policies, regulations, and programs that support the coordination and growth of progressive, efficient, and cost-effective information and telecommunication services and ensures risks are mitigated to an acceptable tolerance.
Oversees the operation of the agency’s computer and telecommunication infrastructure and applications in a secure, reliable, and cost-effective fashion so that other departments can achieve their objectives.
Ensures all software licenses and inventories of hardware are up to date.
Defines and sets performance standards for new system and/or user application requirements.
Responsible for agency-wide management and administration of end-user training needs for appropriate relational database dashboards, and in the use of personal computers to ensure the quality of services targets are met.
Coordinates and monitors the quality and acceptability of service and support delivered by outside service agencies and contractors to honor warranties and/or commitments made.
Provide guidance and supports the Supervisor of IT, Supervisor of IM/Program.
Development, and the Property Management Supervisor, for efficient completion of work assignments, regular supervision, navigating a unionized environment, etc.
Approve procurement of equipment and software from suppliers within budget and the signing authority limits as set out within agency procurement policies.
Prepares RPI, RFP’s and adheres to Purchasing and Expenditures Policies to negotiate contracts, including setting operating performance standards and administers contracts to ensure compliance with operating performance standards.
Responsible for making recommendations with respect to the cost of maintaining, upgrading and/or replacing software and hardware in conjunction with the preparation of the annual budget for Information Technology, Information.
Management and Property, within budget guidelines as set annually with the Chief Financial Officer.
Monitor and ensure that all other matters of an administrative nature are completed in an accurate and timely manner (attendance management, training requests, information data forms, budget control reports, etc.).
Identify training and development.
Computer Sciences, Leadership Skills, Cloud Technologies, Telecommunication System;
At least 10 years in the I.T. function with at least 5 years of progressively increasing levels of management responsibility and management experience in information management systems, local area computer networks, cloud-based services, cloud based telephone systems, voice, video, and data; telecommunication systems, Internet and intranet systems and information systems support or equivalent;
Experience in the administration of technical services contracts is highly desirable;
