PGL Environmental Consultants (PGL) is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team. This role will be based in the Vancouver office five days a week. PGL employees work a 37.5-hour work week. This role will also support our remote offices in Victoria, Langley, and Whitby, Ontario. Some travel to these remote offices will be required.

The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing first-level technical support to all PGL staff. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask, prioritize service tickets, and resolve client issues in a timely manner. This role will work directly with our IT Manager and assist with all departments’ IT needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support across the company via phone, e-mail, remote login, and/or site as needed
  • Configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and mobile devices
  • Maintain an inventory of all computer hardware and software
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems, servers, and networks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware
  • Document all work via the internal ticketing system and respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Repair and replace equipment as necessary
  • Maintain procedures and reports that provide technical support to the entire organization
  • Complete other duties as assigned by IT Manager

Job Requirements:

  • University degree or a diploma in computer science or a relevant field
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a technical support role
  • Technical Certifications (A+, Network+, Office 365, Microsoft MCP, MCTIP, or MCSE
  • Experience with Microsoft products such as Windows 7/8/10/11, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, and Office 365
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience working with Fortinet Firewalls
  • Strong desire to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment but also independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at once
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
