Job title: IT Technician

Job description: Alteo is looking for an IT Technician for a permanent job based in Montreal (South-Shore).

Responsibilities:

– Ensure maximum availability of the company’s infrastructure and applications;
– Assist the network administrator;
– Manage the computer equipment, including workstations, printers, telephone system, mobile devices, centralized antivirus, magnetic cards, etc;
– Maintain an up-to-date disaster recovery plan that is part of the company’s business continuity plan;
– Install, upgrade and evolve the hardware and software elements of the network;
– Follow change management procedures and processes when implementing or modifying systems;
– Apply, through different solutions, security policies and rules related to connectivity to the local network (LAN), the wide area network (WAN), remote access (VPN) and applications;
– Maintain an up-to-date inventory of computer equipment and licenses, including maintenance contracts;
– Provide technical support to internal and external users;
– Writing and updating documentation;
– Make customer satisfaction a daily priority.

Profile:

– AEC/DEC in IT or equivalent
– 2+ years experience as an IT Technician
– Excellent knowledge of Windows 7/8/10 environments
– Knowledge of 2008/2012/2016 Servers and their main management tools
– (Active Directory, WSUS, GPO, DFS, etc.).
– Good knowledge of network standards and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
– Good knowledge of firewall and VPN tunnel management (an asset)
– Experience in wireless network management (controllers, security, SSID) (an asset)
– Experience with Apple systems and Mac devices
– Ability and interest in manipulating, configuring and troubleshooting various network equipment
– Team spirit and collaboration
– Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
– Customer focus
– Problem analysis and resolution
– Time and priority management; Rigour
– On-call availability according to service needs
– Good bilingual communicator in French and English (oral, written)
