Job title: IT Technician (Projects)

Job description: Alteo is looking for an IT Technician (Projects) for a permanent position based in Boucherville or anywhere in the province of Quebec.

*** Post Covid: about 50% telecommuting + the place of work could be: Quebec City, Victoriaville, Sherbrooke, or anywhere in the province of Quebec ***

Responsibilities:

– Support the manager in the realization of the mandates of his or her department in order to achieve the business objectives set
– Participate in the analysis, design and implementation of innovative technological solutions
– Participate in the realization of customer, internal, security and other projects
– Ensure the proper application of IT procedures/standards
– Document projects according to the standards in place
– Provide IT support to customers during the production phase
– Provide IT support to the client’s operations team in relation to projects
– Participate in the transfer of knowledge to the client operations teams
– Evaluate (or anticipate) relevant IT innovations and address them in collaboration with the Innovation Committee

Profile:

– AEC, DEC or Bachelor’s degree in information technology / networking or in a discipline deemed relevant (and/or relevant experience)
– Minimum of 5 years experience in the same type of position
– Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2012-2019), Active directory, Microsoft Exchange, SQL
– Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP protocol
– Excellent knowledge of networks (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.)
– Excellent knowledge of virtualization with VMWare tools
– Very good knowledge of infrastructure (SAN)
– Very good knowledge of computer security
– Very good knowledge of Linux/Unix (asset)
– Experience in data center operations (asset)
– Knowledge of telecommunications
– Good command of written and spoken English
– Recognized certification (ex: VCP, A+, MCNA, MCP, CCNA) (asset)
