Based in Thunder Bay, Outland has over 25 years’ experience working with First Nation partners to deliver camp, modular building, catering and maintenance services both locally and across the country.

Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?

The Janitorial Maintenance role requires the cleaning and sanitization of site common areas to maintain an orderly and safe working environment. The job scope and maintenance team will expand as site construction progresses and the mine moves into the operations phase.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Conformity to site and job specific safety standards and requirements.
• Sweeping and mopping of floors.
• Gather and empty trash containers throughout site.
• Prepare cleaning solutions and clean all surfaces throughout site.
• Clean and stock site bathrooms.
• COVID-19 sanitization procedure

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Valid G Class driver’s license is required.
• Must be double vaccinated with proof of vaccination
• Motivated self-starter capable of working alone and as part of a team.
• A leader willing to take on additional responsibility as the maintenance team grows.
• Previous janitorial experience an asset, but not required.
• Dedication to job safety and quality standards.
• Ability to handle the following physical demands:

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
• Climb ladders or stairs.
• Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time.
• Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands.
• Perform work with arms at full length.
• Work with arms above shoulder height.

Work Schedule and Remuneration:

Work will be on a rotational basis as on-call/part-time to start; though schedule may vary.

Wages are paid on an hourly basis. Specific pay details are discussed at the interview phase.
