We are looking for a Logistics & Waste Management Coordinator to lead the Site Logistics team, where they will ensure that our product-movement, raw materials, and waste management needs are met to achieve the desired business outcomes.

Reporting to the Director Business Services and working a Monday to Friday schedule, you will be:
- Playing a key role in building a culture of interdependence, and ensuring safety is the highest priority
- Overseeing the logistical systems to optimize inbound and outbound deliveries, enhancing site support.
- Leading the logistics team to handle efficient processes for warehousing, transportation, and material management.
- Collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders to streamline operations.
- Ensuring seamless service delivery to both internal and external customers through effective systems.
- Evaluating logistic budgets and expenditures associated with all logistic movements.
- Refining and tracking metrics to gauge performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, such as Transport Canada and Canadian Railroad regulations.
- Adhering to regulatory requirements for transportation and disposal of waste materials, maintaining thorough documentation and permits.
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in aluminum processing or a similar industrial environment.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of logistics operations and processes.
- A genuine and compassionate leadership style focused on mentoring and coaching.
- Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels.
- Seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced organizational and problem-solving skills to drive results.
- Possess a minimum education of a high school diploma or GED
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Experience in logistics and raw materials handling specific to Rio Tinto BC Works.

The base salary range for this role is $111,200 – $166,800 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
