Job Description

Role Purpose:

This role will lead Logistics Productivity and CI, managing the project pipeline, portfolio management and reporting methodology. The incumbent will also support the total logistics budget attainment and special projects related to Network Optimization, and new projects. This includes, but is not limited to, process improvements, technology implementation, reporting development, analytics, and business casing.

Oversee the planning aspects of transportation management, including annual bid preparation and carrier performance management to ensure our carriers provide the best rates and the best service to support our overall logistics goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish routines and tools to ensure systemic and predictable cost management through transportation and logistics productivity pipeline
  • Develop functional proficiency in project management (Champions) and oversee Logistics CI projects
  • Connect with domestic and global leaders to source new project opportunities and apply best practices to the Canada Zone
  • Management of logistics reporting improvements, leveraging central ops BI capabilities
  • Annual transportation bid preparation and execution
  • Routing guide development, lane-set up, rate management
  • Carrier scorecard development and weekly performance reviews with critical carrier partners
  • Management and maintenance of systems performance, including OTM, 4Kites etc
  • Escalation for any issues with on-time delivery performance of carriers

Qualifications:

  • University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated successful performance and knowledge with leading logistics operations, specifically transportation management
  • Previous experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Previous management of P&Ls
  • Skills: financial management, organizational, project management
  • Process oriented with high attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve independently and working with others inside and outside the organization
  • Ability to support activities in multiple time zones (EU)
  • Well experienced in managing a team and grooming talent
