Job description: Your Opportunity:
We are looking for a Mental Health Therapist with experience in patient-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery based care for the 8 bed Lethbridge Youth Treatment Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta. The Lethbridge Youth Treatment Centre offers treatment to individuals whose lives have been negatively impacted by mental illness, alcohol and other drugs. The Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for the delivery of a continuum of treatment services, including screening, assessment, treatment planning, harm reduction, case management and therapeutic interventions in individual and group settings, primarily with youth. This person will work from a concurrent capable framework, and must be able to provide a wide variety of evidence-informed treatment modalities to individuals with mental health and addictions issues. This is an advanced clinical role that is required to perform restricted activities of Psychosocial Interventions. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will maintain accurate and appropriate documentation on client files in a timely fashion. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with allied professionals and community agencies to provide seamless service to clients.
Description:
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of one of the following programs: master’s degree in Psychology; master’s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master’s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master’s degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum of one years’ experience providing a full spectrum of mental health therapeutic services in a concurrent capable setting. Extensive knowledge of a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, trauma recovery treatments and motivational interviewing. Driver’s license. Standard First Aid. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. Preferred Qualifications:
Any outdoor, watersport or climbing certification would be an asset. Experience working with youth in a treatment or therapeutic capacity would be an asset. Class IV license
