Job description: The Opportunity:

Our client, a Canadian mining organization, is looking for a Mine General Manager who will be responsible to safely execute the production plan at the client’s mine site. Set the2 year plan and strategy for the site and build and develop a team to execute the plan. Build the culture at the mine site to align with the company values. Mange costs across the operation and continuous improvement work.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Manages the health, safety, and environment issues across the site, and works to implement best practise in the HSE space.
• Develop the two-year strategy and break it down to deliver targets quarter on quarter.
• Develop the yearly production plan and budget and ensure that the budget is delivered.
• Implement a continuous improvement program across the site to reduce bottlenecks, improve production and reduce costs.
• Work across the business to ensure products produced meet customer requirements and orders and are to the specified quality.
• Build the culture and team capability in line with the client’s values.
• Build and develop a team that delivers safely on time and on budget.
• Coach and develop reports and high performers.

What you’ll need to be successful;

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required (mining engineering, geology or related subject)
• Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in a mining environment
• Bilingualism (French and English). Candidate must be fully fluent in English/French.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership and building culture and a high performing team.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate across various levels of the organisation.
• Ability to think and develop strategic plans then build them into daily deliverables.
