Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
This 3-credit hour master’s level course will introduce all nurse practitioner students to a general healthcare focus of populations across the lifespan and in multiple clinical settings. This course will consist of theories, terminology, point-of-care technology, assessment, diagnosis and treatment directed towards a population of all ages. Theories of family, change and adult learning will be presented to guide the nurse practitioner student in the development of a holistic plan of care for health promotion and disease prevention, health maintenance, health assessment, and acute and chronic disease management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topics
- Teach course content
- Assessment and evaluation of student learning
- Use of Brightspace for course delivery
- Responding to student queries about coursework
- Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace
- Participation in course discussions within the program
- Develop and administer examinations
- Submission of grades
- Follow up with students as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
A graduate degree as Nurse Practitioner, an active RN license with the NSCN, as well as two years of recent clinical experience is required. Clinical teaching experience (which may include preceptorship of staff or students) is essential.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
