Confirmation of hybrid work options available to you will be clarified upon hire and may be subject to change based on the duties required of your position. Successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus, as required.

Fanshawe College offers a graduate certificate in Tourism and Hospitality Management as well as a diploma in Hotel and Resort Services Management with courses running from September to August. The School of Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Arts offers courses in all levels of these programs with teaching primarily delivered in-person at our London Downtown Campus located at 130 Dundas Street, London, Ontario.

Note: These are part-time temporary Faculty positions (up to 6 hours per week) starting January 4, 2024 and ending April 12, 2024 with the possibility of renewal for the Summer 2024 term.

The Faculty of Creative Industries is seeking hospitality experts to teach diploma level and graduate certificate level courses in January 2024.

Part-time courses available include:

  • Residence Management
  • Canadian Hospitality and Tourism
  • Financial Management and Analysis

Qualifications

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Works independently and collaboratively as part of an academic team
  • Relates effectively to a wide variety of learners
  • Capable to teach in-person on campus
  • Contributes to and supports the program’s and Fanshawe’s college continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with educational technologies (LMS) are preferred
  • Collaborates effectively with faculty members on curriculum and uses educational technology – specifically our learning management software FanshaweOnline
  • Demonstrates commitment to enhancing equity, inclusion, and diversity by creating a positive learning environment which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles
  • Engages students in experiential education opportunities
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and leading innovation

SPECIFIC QUALFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in relevant discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ recent and relevant industry experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • College or university level teaching experience preferred
  • Experience with financial management and sales would be an asset
