We currently have a Regular Part-time (0.2 FTE) opportunity for a Patient Administrative Associate in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, located at our Bayview Campus.

Hours of Work: Weekdays: Days, Evenings; 8hrs; As per schedule;

Alternating Weekends: Days; 8 hrs; As per schedule

Statutory Holidays Required

Summary of Duties

The PAA is responsible for the coordination of patient flow and patient activities; administrative services for patient care unit; and the maintenance of patient records, staffing, scheduling (up to 80% of the time), payroll, and administrative support to the patient care unit.

Qualifications/Skills

  • One year of Community College- Medical Terminology course preferred
  • One year of Administrative/Business experience required, in a health care setting preferred
  • Experience as PAA on a Critical Care Unit preferred
  • Demonstrated Patient-Focused Care/Customer Service behavior
  • Knowledge of software packages such as Word/Windows
  • Keyboarding at 40 w.p.m. with maximum 5% error rate
  • Ability to organize work effectively, and work at a fast pace in an unpredictable environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
