Position Overview:
Prevention Case Aide Workers for the purpose of assisting workers in the area of a service delivery. The coordination of the Prevention Case Aide Worker will be the responsibility of the Prevention Services Supervisor.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Prevention Case Aide Worker is to coordinate order and shipment of program supplies and resources materials.
- Ensure shipment of program supplies, help to coach and/or partner with Prevention Services Coordinator to: facilitate workshops, deliver short term family support programs, organize children and family recreational activities and host community events.
- Submit monthly calendar of prevention and family support programs to the Prevention Unit Supervisor for approval.
- Promote upcoming prevention programs as required, i.e. distribution of monthly calendar, newsletters, radio station, posters and/or presentations.
- Ensure safety of participants in programs and activities at all times.
- Contact the Prevention Unit Supervisor for support, direction and approval to assist with other community events or for any other special requests.
- Ensuring case notes and log book documentation are completed and submitted within 24 hours.
- Travel to attend training and unit meetings.
- Contacting the office immediately should an emergency/serious occurrence arise.
- Provide support, when necessary, to other Prevention Workers delivering prevention programs.
- Preform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Desired:

- Successful applicant must provide proof of both COVID-19 Vaccinations
- Knowledge and understanding of the Indigenous culture and the First Nation communities served by Tikinagan.
- Knowledge of regional and community-based resources and services. Knowledgeable about traditional and recreational activities for families and children, including land-based activities.
- Able to work effectively with First Nation leadership, local and regional service providers.
- Good organizational and project management skills, ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to provide coaching, mentoring and partnering with assigned staff.
- Professional integrity and the ability to maintain confidentially are essential.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours.
- Frequent travel is required including by small aircraft.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Current First Aide Certification would be an asset.
- A Criminal Records Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
- Ability to communicate in Ojibway or Oji-Cree is an asset.
- Post-Secondary Education in the Social Services field is an asset.
