POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Technical Security Manager, this role will support legal and compliance requirements related to current privacy legislation and overall data privacy best practices. To this end, the role will assist with the ongoing administration and use of a consent management system and data inventory including operationalizing new and updated privacy and security requirements as necessary. The role will also support tasks within security operations as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the administration of a consent management system and data inventory including operationalizing new and updated privacy and security requirements as necessary.
  • Support the continuous improvement of Privacy and Security Program tools, templates and processes.
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional partners (Cybersecurity/Technology/Legal/Vendor Management) to initiate privacy and security processes.
  • Work with business stakeholders to ensure privacy requirements are met.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments as required.
  • Document ownership and sensitivity of data and maintaining the data inventory.
  • Contribute to the management of Policies, Standards and Procedures.
  • Help to investigate potential privacy or security incidents and advise on response.
  • Ensure escalation and notification for privacy and risk related issues and participate in privacy breach response including reporting and documentation.
  • Assist with cyber security operational tasks as needed.
  • Integrate privacy and security into other governance processes and assist in the development of intake channels that alert privacy when appropriate (vendor governance, technical project delivery process, data governance processes).
  • Responsible for overseeing individual rights request responses and the supporting process.
  • Develop and deliver team specific training to internal audiences for new controls and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-7 years of relevant privacy and security experience
  • Have a post-secondary degree in related field or combination of education and experience with continuing professional development in privacy and security
  • Have experience with investigating privacy and security incidents
  • Have strong knowledge of data privacy laws and best practices and upcoming privacy legislation in the Canadian and International context
  • Have demonstrated strong leadership skills and are able to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels within an organization
  • Privacy or security certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, CDPSE, or CISSP is an asset
  • Experience with consent management systems and data inventory is an asset.
  • Experience with data analytics, ad tech systems and privacy enhancing technologies and techniques are assets.
