Job description: Work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

As a Program Manager you will leverage your industry knowledge to identify and understand where further solutions are needed for our software solutions. You will assist with multiple phases of the software development life cycle including meeting with customers, gathering and translation of business requirements, and enabling different teams and customers in leveraging new functionality. The Program Manager will bring to the position a high level of energy, willingness to adapt to change, a passion to learn new technologies, while delivering excellent customer relationship skills.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of hotel industry operations and market trends, conceptual and practical understanding of hotel systems. The candidate should be enthusiastic about turning industry problems into software solutions, be self-driven, able to collaborate with different teams, customers, and partners. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence others in a positive manner are essential qualities in a candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Stay abreast of industry issues, trends and requirements
  • Collaborates with customers to identify business opportunities
  • Respond to feature and functionality questions from the various channels, including both internal/external customers and vendors
  • May provide pre-sales support including customer presentations and meetings along with product demos
  • Work closely with the product/development teams to identify opportunities and solution problems in the software
  • Assist in the development and writing of functional requirements for changes in functionality
  • Assist with the preparation, organization and implementation of beta installation
  • Assist with the preparation of sales and marketing materials
  • Travel may be required
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one or more of the following:
  • 3 years hotel operation experience and 3 year related software systems
  • 3 years as an industry business or software analyst
  • Good computer/systems background: PC platforms, Windows Operating Systems, MS Office applications. Advanced knowledge in areas such as Excel and PPT are a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in an environment with multiple ongoing priorities and deadlines
  • Experience with hotel or hospitality industry software and applications (i.e. OPERA)
  • Previous experience working within a multi-cultural global software development project a plus
