One of our major banking clients is looking for a Project Manager/ IT Business Process Consultant- Major Bank
Length: 12 Months contract with a strong possibility of extension
Location: Toronto, ON
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
ROLE MANDATE:
Business Consultant Expert is required to develop and execute the strategy for the Branch Sales and Service Modernization team and guide projects through business gating. The consultant will also be responsible for delivery of ongoing and new Digitization/Modernization initiatives .
The Branch Sales and Service Modernization team is a key group of functional, process subject matter experts responsible for the modernization of the Branch Sales and Service platforms with a mandate to improve customer and employee experience, find efficiencies and reduce waste/non-value added activities.
Our team is looking for an experienced Business Consultant to provide expert guidance multiple projects which are ongoing as part of the Branch Technology Modernization Program. The BTM (Branch Technology Program) program is a 4-year journey to deliver on the Bank’s Ambition 2025 commitments to increase reliability of branch technology, enhance mobility of branch roles, improve security, and modernize our sales & service platform

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop comprehensive and effective plans for multiple Sales and Service Modernization projects
- Provide leadership, control and direction in the monitoring and management Sales and Service Modernization projects aligned to department and strategic goals
- Manage all activities throughout all phases of Sales and Service Modernizations projects from requirements gathering, forms rationalization, form design, build, test, deploy and support
- Anticipate, identify, manage and resolve business and technical issues and risks
- Develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies and recommendations
- Coordinate with technical experts to develop solutions to complex business problems
- Lead project stakeholder forums; monitor and report project status to senior management
- Establish relationships with all project stakeholders, technology, vendor and consulting partners
- Work collaboratively with project managers, business analysts, consultants, developers, solution architects, vendors and other business and technical teams to successfully deliver on key initiatives
- Provide business and technical leadership and guidance to project teams and consultants
- Create work plans, assign and track work, establish priorities and monitor quality of deliverables
- Assist with learning and development plans and training of staff
- Provide input into strategic and operational plans and assist in development of recommendations and business cases
MUST-HAVE SKILLS:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical discipline
- 10+ years of work experience
- Leadership and team management skills
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (e.g. Waterfall, Agile etc.)
- Proven experience in planning, organizing and managing multiple projects concurrently
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Capability to learn quickly on the job
- Attention to detail and focus on quality
- General knowledge of business and IT architecture
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:
- Master of Business Administration
- Project Management Professional (PMP) would be an asset
- Previous consulting experience
- Process mapping experience
- Agile certification and experience
- Technical Skills: Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, Jira, Confluence
