Job description: Adecco is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing professional to join our client’s team as a Purchasing – Construction and Infrastructure Specialist. As part of the Administrative and Support Services industry, you will be responsible for procuring all construction and infrastructure services required for the initial establishment of our client’s company. This is a full-time role located in St. Thomas, ON, with a competitive salary package.

Detailed Job Description:
Independently source, negotiate, and complete single orders as well as frame contracts for construction and infrastructure services.
Present purchasing strategies and results to the client’s sourcing committees, demonstrating your expertise in the field.
Serve as a liaison between Purchasing programs and processes, acting as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and support.
Act as a coach and mentor to new hires, assisting them during the ramp-up phase of their roles.
Administer and optimize contracts and amendments, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
Establish and manage strategic suppliers to enhance procurement efficiency.
Follow up on purchasing issues and discrepancies to ensure timely resolution for internal customers.
Regularly report on all purchasing activities to the local Head of Purchasing.
Collaborate closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, boost morale, increase productivity, and enhance retention.
Perform other related duties as assigned or as they pertain to the position.
Candidate’s Profile:
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
Bachelor’s degree in economics, industrial engineering, or a related field (proof required).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing and construction and infrastructure contract management.
Experience with process improvements, streamlining procurement procedures, and optimizing cost-effectiveness.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and credit check.
Willingness to travel and work in different time zones, particularly in Europe.
Possession of certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, CSCM, or CSCMP would be advantageous.
Experience with mergers and acquisitions is considered an extreme asset.
