Job description: Ridge Meadows Recycling Society is seeking a Foreman/Supervisor to join our team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Position is full-time (40 hours/week) and pays $25/hour to start.

Job Objective: To provide quality supervision for operation of the Maple Ridge Recycling Depot.
Includes daily operational planning to:
a) maximize efficiency of staffing, equipment, facility, and operations;
b) ensure quality & consistency of commodities shipped; and
c) provide excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will have many of the following education, skills or proven experience:

EDUCATION / TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE:
Driver’s Licence – ideally Air Brake or Class 3 Clean Driving record
Certified Forklift Driver Certified Skidsteer Loader DriverFirst Aid
Advanced mechanical, hydraulics aptitude
Criminal record check required, must be bondable

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Must have supervisory experience (preferred union experience), demonstrated leadership abilities, good oral and written communication skills, ability to observe, acknowledge and respond to public relations issues, proven customer service skills, attention to detail, ability to problem solve in a constructive and/or creative manner, self-starter: self-directed & self-motivated, ability to multi-task.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily supervision of employees to ensure: maximum production, efficient task completion, operate equipment as required, maintain daily/monthly reports, coordinate daily shipment of recyclables with freight companies, maintain smooth efficient flow of commodities within the depot operation, ensure safety-first attitude for all staff members, resolve behavioural problems or conflicts between staff, ongoing daily maintenance of all equipment: trucks, balers, forklifts. Ensure daily and regular safety inspections are completed and recorded, responsible for ensuring all safety standards are met, ensure customer service standards are met. Hands-on labouring work is required.
