Toronto Rehab, along with Toronto Western, Toronto General and Princess Margaret Hospitals, is a member of the University Health Network and affiliated with the University of Toronto.
The Hemodialysis program provides services to end stage renal patients who require hemodialysis on average 3 times per week or daily. The average patient age is 67 years old. The usual nurse/patient ratio is 1:3. Intensive training is provided with written and practical testing – an 80% pass rate required on written tests. The RNs will perform other nursing duties that are consistent with the job classification and/or clinical specialty as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current C.P.R. certification
- Minimum one (1) year, full-time current experience on a Medical/Surgical unit an asset
- Current Hemodialysis experience an asset
- Nephrology experience and/or completion of the Nephrology certificate (preferably the Humber College Course) preferred
- Nephrology, ICU or Emergency experience an asset
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Completion of BScN preferred
