Job description: Fat Bastard Walkerton (1000262730 ONTARIO LTD.) provides high-quality Mexican cuisine featuring the meals, side dishes, and beverages displayed on the official menu of Fat Bastard Burrito Co’s website. The menu includes a wide range of burritos, quesadillas, bowls, tacos, desserts, waffle fries, and a selection of beverages for all age ranges. Customers can choose between several types of meat or vegetarian and vegan options based on their dietary preferences. The Company offers its products to the whole population of Walkerton, including all age ranges.

The company is looking to hire a dedicated and committed Restaurant Manager to lead all operation of our Walkerton location. He will be responsible for maintaining the restaurant’s revenue, profitability, and quality goals. He will be expected to ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards. The applicant needs management skills and experience in both front and back of the restaurant.

Compensation: $22.20 per hour (40 hours/week)

Overtime: $33.30 per hour after 44 hours per week

Vacation: 10 paid days or vacation pay 4% of the gross pay

Sick days: 10 working days

Job Protected unpaid leave: 10 days for personal emergencies such as illness, injury and certain other emergencies and urgent matters.

Paid training/learning opportunities such as CPR, Beverage Services Manager Certification, subject to approval in advance

Minimum qualifications for this position must meet the following criteria:

  • Post-secondary education in business or hotel management or in related field is preferred or minimum 3 years’ experience as a restaurant manager.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within the restaurant industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food handling, food service, and food preparation techniques.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
  • Experience in interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising staff members.
  • Knowledge of bartending techniques is a plus.
  • Familiarity with hotel restaurant operations is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer use such as emails, MS Office, MS Word, spreadsheet etc.

Duties:

  • Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, including managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining quality standards.
  • Create and implement strategies to increase revenue and reduce costs.
  • Train and develop staff members to provide excellent customer service and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and timely delivery of orders.
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage.
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules.
  • Manage the restaurant’s budget and financial performance.
  • Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
