Sales Accounting Supervisor

Our Sales Accounting Supervisor leads a team that provides our business with accurate financial information to help our leaders make the decisions that keep us operating sustainably. They are responsible for the preparation and review of all financial statements, analytical review, variance analysis, trend analysis, budgets for all the TMS sales sectors, Transportations, Administration and support service departments and consolidated financials. We’re looking for a Sales Accounting Supervisor to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia. Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- University Degree in accounting and/or finance.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
- Five years of post CPA certification experience.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role will be considered and asset.
- Demonstrated financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, a strong understanding of general accounting principles and strong accounting knowledge.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, time management and communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills with strong decision-making.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Power BI.
- Knowledge of the forestry industry considered an asset.
- Proficiency with AX Dynamics and JDE considered an asset.

In your role you will:
- Provide information support for department managers and traders with queries and sales analysis as requested.
- Provide cost/ benefit analysis for proposed business opportunities and current operations.
- Ensure accuracy of the general ledger accounts by reviewing account analysis quarterly.
- Review of all journal entries and supporting documentation monthly.
- Review/ preparation of all financial statements and analysis monthly.
- Prepare/ review of audit working papers annually.
- Prepare and review of budgets and related presentations annually.
- Provide leadership and development of accounting and administrative staff.
