The opportunity:

Our Technology Risk Management Consulting services team is growing. We are looking for talented individuals at the Senior Consultant level to join KPMG’s dynamic and thriving team in Montreal. The successful candidate will focus primarily on providing technical insight for engagements where we assess and attest our clients’ IT and Cybersecurity Risks with respect to a variety of industry standards (SOC2, ISO27001, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, etc.). They will demonstrate a flair for investigation, analysis and a willingness to familiarize themselves with most common industry Security and IT Risk Management solutions. They will also be involved in training and guiding our new campus hires.

What you will do

• Perform technical testing, domain research, document findings, conduct interviews and communicate regularly with clients and resources.
• Conduct assessments of IT risks and controls in support of our maturity or compliance engagements.
• Review new and existing systems in terms of adequacy of controls, security and operational considerations.
• Review and provide advice and guidance with regards to clients’ development of security controls.
• Participate actively in Cybersecurity Maturity and Third-Party Risk assessments.
• Be part of the fieldwork team either at the client site or remotely.
• Support and train junior staff members.
• Work with senior leaders to enhance KPMG’s Technology Risk Consulting services.

What you bring to the role

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, computer science degree, or other relevant degree required.
• Completion or about to complete one or a combination of the following designations; CPA, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, ISO27001 Lead Auditor.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in deploying, assessing or managing information technology or its associated risk.
• Knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
• Strong understanding and experience with security controls audits or assessments (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST) is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, on multiple engagements simultaneously, with little supervision and within a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail, strong organization and analytical skills.
• Have a high degree of personal confidence, enthusiasm and drive.
• Willingness and ability to travel, mainly in Canada.
