About the role:
The Senior General Accountant will have a direct reporting line into the Director of Finance -Canadian and US Operations, and act like the finance business partner on-site, in a stand-alone role managing the day to day accounting and finance operations for this prestigious institution.

Responsibilities would include:

• Ensure that transactions are recorded accurately in NetSuite, in accordance with IFRS reporting standards.
• Produce timely financial statements
• Review intercompany and intracompany balances
• Support the annual budget and biannually P&L forecasting
• Establish and maintain strong control around credit collections
• First point of contact with Head Office and local auditors.
• Responsible for ensuring that local cash management is optimized.

Qualifications:

• CPA or equivalent education and work experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in a commercial environment, ideally reporting into a regional or overseas Head Office.
• Comfortable in setting policy, direction and influencing others in achieving objectives.
• Strong system and computer skills, and experience with NetSuite is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, people management skills and emotional intelligence
• Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.
• Self-starter with a self-sufficient approach
