About the role

Workplace : Montreal (2020, Blvd. Robert-Bourassa), Anjou (7101 Jean-Talon St. East), Saint-Hyacinthe (2450 Girouard West), Québec (5700 Boulevard des Galeries) or Toronto (700 University ave.)
The Role :
As a Senior IT business analyst, you play a vital role of translator and facilitator between Business, IT and Quality Assurance. You will be part of a small squad with the sole purpose of creating and enhancing a digital product to the point where that product is the best product, not just in the insurance field, but the best product out there, period.
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Products, your main responsibilities are:
- Analyze business needs to define IT solutions
- Lead / prepare / participate in business requirements specification workshops to specify IT solutions
- Make impact analysis and effort estimates to advocate, get approval, then document the IT solution using effective methods and interacting with both business users and the IT project team
- Support the development of solutions and monitor performance
- Participate in test activities with business people, developers and Quality Assurance
- Support Product Owners in handling their backlogs and prioritize work to be done
- Write effective User Stories that can be used by Front End, Back End developers and Quality Assurance
- Handle change management process via train the trainer documents and procedures
- Build a solid, reusable and thorough system documentation to be used by any stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Information Technology or a related field
- 5 to 8 years of experience in analysis (Business, Functional, Information)
Specific experiences – Assets strongly considered
- Project experience in Scrum mode
- Experience and knowledge of the insurance or financial services field
- Experience and knowledge of applications in a web environment or Mobile
- Mastery of JIRA & Confluence
- Knowledge of Miro, Abstract or Zeppelin
- Experience Eliciting and writing requirements for a dynamic web platform
- Functional knowledge of French is a definite asset
