Senior IT Business Analyst/Project Manager

The successful candidate will leverage their experiences and knowledge to manage various IT Projects and deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing projects including planning, selection of appropriate methodology (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) and execution of the project, facilitating project scope, schedule, goals and delivering on time and within budget
- Routinely provide direction and support to the individuals assigned to a particular project team, identify issues that impact cost or delivery status
- Work with IT management and the various stakeholders to ensure effective communication, integration of project issues and deliverables, and clear articulation of business requirements.
- Utilize Project Management tools to identify/manage critical path tasks, track the progress and movement of the project through the various stages of completion
- Conduct formal risk management sessions to document and manage risk management plans as well as provide post mortem/root cause analysis for significant issues
- Lead requirements gathering sessions with key business stakeholders, software development teams and technology vendors to translate business requirements into the required documentation (e.g. user stories, technical specifications for interfaces, reports, enhancements and forms) in accordance with software development or package implementation methodologies
- Perform modeling of business and system processes based on findings through use-case scenarios, workflow diagrams, functional specifications and data models
- Identifies, evaluates and recommends technical directions and methods to support the Architectural Roadmap and meet the business partner needs
- Quickly understands the business processes and issues and data challenges to provide holistic solutions.
- Review and approve key development and design deliverables, including system requirements, integration requirements, data schemas, and design documentation
- Collaborate with business users and software developers on evaluation of software packages and decisions to apply technology solutions to address business problems, issues and requirements
- Drive the user acceptance testing process, including preparation of acceptance criteria, review of the test plans and scenarios, review of test results as well as taking responsibility for end to end testing. May also execute test cases and directly ensures system integrity
- Support the development of end-user training and documentation
- Take ownership of functional issues by identifying underlying problems, analyzing potential solutions and implementing system resolutions, including workarounds
- Prioritizing and managing own workload in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines
- Develops framework with Business Unit to establish KPI’s, standards, processes, procedures, and policies
- Maintains network of external contacts, and maintains network of internal contacts to extend knowledge base. Active member of applicable peer groups (e.g., user groups, councils, conferences)
Requirements:
- University Bachelor degree or Community College diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an IT Business Analyst and/or Project Manager
- Demonstrated experience in managing application-based projects through the software development lifecycle by effectively applying structured Project Management methodologies.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects concurrently to deliver customer project objectives, on track, on time and within budget
- Superior analytical, problem solving and judgment skills
- Technical application software development experience and understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Proficient software skills – MS office suite, Collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams), Jira, MS project, and wireframing tools
- Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Agile (such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)) Certification(s)/designation(s) considered an asset but not required
- Knowledge and experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP), Enterprise Applications, Big Data & Analytics considered an asset but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both individual and team situations and at any level (e.g. working with senior leadership)
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of managing activities across multiple lines of business
- Hands-on, pragmatic and results oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Well-honed change management, communications and conflict management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, challenging and changing work environment
Hours of Work:
- Standard Monday to Friday office hours
- Occasional extended, paid hours as required to meet project deadlines or peak workload
