Job description: What is the opportunity?

This role participates in and leads some of the execution of the Wealth Management Technology & Solutions (WMTS) Operational Risk Annual Plan and execution of operational risk management (ORM) and IT Risk management within WMTS. The role is also responsible for participating in planning and managing Operational Risk Management programs and processes as they flow across WMTS.

Individual contributor with expert understanding of software security technologies (e.g. encryption, IAM, data purging) and testing methodologies (static code analysis, pentesting, vulnerability scanning), providing control and advisory services to: application development, support teams and the Wealth Management Business. Services provided cover risk advisory & awareness, IT & operational risk analysis, risk & compliance exposure reporting, and regulatory response.

What will you do?

  • Lead risk treatment recommendations for IT & Operational risks, executing excellent influencing skills to ensure risks are sufficiently mitigated
  • Lead and contribute to the delivery of the IT & Operational risk awareness program
  • Contribute to the review of new and changed RBC IT policies & standards and identify impact on WMTS applications and processes
  • Ensure penetration tests are scheduled and executed on time and accurately documented in the enterprise risk register
  • Support and advise WMTS on Operational Risk matters
  • Act as a contact/liaison between Internal & External Audit, ensuring requests are fulfilled on time and that management has an early indication of potential issues

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Expert knowledge of software security architectures and technologies (e.g. encryption, IAM, data purging)
  • Expert communication (verbal and written) skills, including strong appreciation of relationship management
  • Strong knowledge in IT and operational risk management processes, methods and tools
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge and experience covering the operating systems (e.g. Unix, Windows, zOS) and database systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2)
  • CISSP or CISM Certifications

Nice-to-have

  • CEH or CRISC certifications
  • CCSP or CCSK Certifications, or demonstrable knowledge
  • Knowledge of GRC tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Archer)
