What you’ll be doing:

  • Following recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set out by our Pastry Chef
  • Preparing daily items according to instructions
  • Assisting in maintaining clean and organized stations
  • Assisting in cleaning food prep areas, equipment, and utensils, while strictly adhering to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines
  • Following FIFO (first in, first out) method to maximize freshness
  • Moving food products and supplies between outlets when necessary
  • Reporting any equipment/utensil malfunctions/deficiencies to Chef on duty
  • Working collaboratively with BOH team members
  • Following and enforcing hygiene and safety standards set by the Public Health Department and the Company
  • Assisting with training
  • Leading the pastry team by example to exhibit, encourage and motivate DRC’s Values & Beliefs
  • Responsible for ensuring internal orders from sister locations are fulfilled and picked up
  • Coordinating ordering, mise-en-place, and task/assignment delegation, ensuring production is on schedule
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required

What you’ll bring to the kitchen:

  • EXPERIENCE. You have a minimum of three (3) years experience in a pastry kitchen (with one year in a senior, tenured and/or leadership role).
  • EDUCATION/TRAINING. You’ve studied in a Bakery and Pastry Arts program degree/diploma/certificate, or you’ve got the equivalent in education and experience
  • DRIVE. You have the drive to push, an eagerness to learn + a genuine desire to contribute and have FUN!
  • ADAPTABILITY. You thrive in a fast-paced, everchanging environment (and a weekend schedule). Open and flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
  • PERSONALITY. You’re humble coupled with a good sense of humour.
