Description:
This course examines the nature of spirituality. After exploring various conceptions of spirituality the course then examines how it can be part of the school curriculum in a non threatening manner. More specifically, the course explores the nature of the soul and how the soul can be nourished in the classroom through approaches such as imagery, dreams, journal writing, and forms of contemplation. The arts and earth education are also examined in this context. Finally the role of the teacher will be explored.

Sessional dates of appointment: Sept 2021 – Dec. 2021
Salary: The minimum stipend as of September 1, 2020, the minimum stipend is $8,489.66 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course. (Salary may be prorated based on the appointment percentage. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum qualifications: Candidates should possess a doctorate degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrated currency and mastery of the subject area. Mastery may be demonstrated, but not limited to scholarly publications establishing expertise in the area.
Preferred qualifications: Over and above the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to individuals with prior graduate teaching experience in this area.
Prior experience teaching online is an asset and should be highlighted in your application cover letter.
Description of duties: Prepare, organize, and teach this half-course graduate seminar; be available to students seeking assistance between classes; evaluate and provide students with feedback on their work.
