Course Description: LHA1834 provides an overview of qualitative research methods and their applications in higher education research. The course is designed to help learners understand: (1) the foundations of qualitative research, (2) the various traditions of qualitative inquiry, (3) principles and elements of qualitative research design, (4) criteria for evaluating the quality of qualitative studies, and (5) approaches to data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must hold an EdD or PhD in Higher Education or a related field and have evidence of expertise in the areas of the topic of the course. Demonstrated prior experience in graduate level teaching online, preferably using Canvas/Quercus. Demonstrated prior graduate teaching experience in the areas of course topic.

Duties: Prepare, organize, and teach this full-course graduate seminar; be available to students seeking assistance between classes; evaluate and provide students with feedback on their work.
