Job Summary
The program vision is to harness the creative power of technologies and innovative ideas to enhance the quality of life in Mississauga – already a . Reporting to the Smart City Program Manager, the Project Leader is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing project efforts that operationalize our Smart City Master Plan. It ends on a Smart City for Everybody!
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be part of the Smart City portfolio that includes: data science + artificial intelligence, open data, big data, electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, augmented reality, virtual reality, smart city metrics, robotics, IoT sensors, 5G and more.
- Deliver on the Smart City Advanced Technology program
- Develops and implements detailed plans and recommends policies regarding Smart City priority requirements
- Delivery of technologies identified in our five year operating plan including: big data platform, open data platform, data science and AI platforms and related technologies. Our initial focus is on core data governance operations. Work with Data Scientists and Build a Unified Data Platform to Support AI / Open Data / Unified Search / Analytics and more
- Lead the creation and execution of RFP, RFI, POC, MVP and SOW
- Development of Smart City Guidelines
- Lead Advanced Technology Research and Exploration
- Supports team with strategic community and partner engagement program
- Assist the development of a Smart City communications program
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- University degree in computer science, engineering, geography, urban planning or related discipline along with five years experience in the urban technology domain
- Five years of progressive work experience in managing projects is required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
- Strong data skills and experience with the DAMA DMBOK Framework for Data Governance including an understanding of privacy laws in Canada and Ontario
- Experience with the land development, land registry and urban planning processes in Ontario
- Demonstrated procurement experience RFP, RFI, RFQ, SOW, etc.
- Experience in Smart City technologies, including but not limited to the Esri platform
- Experience in the suite of Microsoft 365 / Azure / Esri
